Why..Nars?

Hey guys! so... I have a poo for you. I hate not liking a product, the money and the time spent on a product that turns out to be poo is just frustrating. Now I do know that, what might work for me might not work for you or vice versa. So these are my opinions about this product and what I experienced when I tried this foundation out. My skin type is normal but dehydrated and sometimes a little oily in the T-zone. I do not experience any type of dry patches.

So.. Nars Sheer Matte Foundation. Why do I not like this? Well first I am not the biggest fan of matte skin. When I went to the Nars counter I had asked for the Nars Sheer GLOW foundation, I told her glow...glow!!! many times... but when I got home, an hour away from the mall I had realized she gave me the matte, not the glow. So I said oh well I'll try it. From the first time I tried it, I did not like it. It is so sheer, which I know "Sheer Matte" but this has NO coverage at all. It applies very patchy and it makes my face look like a desert, it sucks all the moisture out of my face. It clings to EVERYTHING. It settles in all fine lines and pores. And when I tried to wear it hoping maybe with time it would look better, it completely broke down is maybe 4 hours? like I said before, I do not have very oily skin at all. It does not matter what primer I use or the way I apply it. It looks the same every time.

I have tried mixing it with other foundations and moisturizers and it separates from everything. It is so thick, you could hold the bottle upside down and it would not go anywhere, you need a Q-tip or something to scoop it out. I'm hoping I just got a bad bottle because it would be sad if this product was really this bad for everyone! Nars is a good brand, I am not hating on them at all. I've had many items I loved from them, but this is one I will never go near again. It was a huge waste of money.

See is separating and cracking on the bottom?

I have read many reviews about Sheer matte and everyone is saying the same thing, so if you love this foundation please do tell how you apply it and what primers you use. I would love to hear your opinions!

Nakedness

Hey guys! It's been a long time :( I've been dealing with somethings and have been sick, so it's been hard to get on here and talk beauty, but I am back and back with a review! Hope you enjoy!

Today I am reviewing for you guys the "Naked Skin" line by Urban Decay. Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup- $39.00. Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer- $28.00 and the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation- $36.00. Found the prices on www.Ulta.com

The Liquid foundation is medium coverage but build-able to full coverage. It has a demi-matte finish but it gives your skin some glow. It has a very thin consistency. It is extremely light on the skin and sits beautifully making you look flawless. I can agree to the name "Naked Skin" It feels just like your own skin. I have combo skin, so I always set my T-zone, but I do not have to with this foundation, the lasting power is fantastic even without being set with a powder. You must shake this product well! It has a slight perfume scent to it, but it does not last and it does not bother me, I can be quite sensitive to some smells. I love the sleek packaging. It is the typical 1 fl oz you find in most foundations. It comes in 18 shades, that is very good in my opinion, wide variety!

The Concealer is very pigmented and very creamy. This is beautiful under the eyes and on any imperfections you may have. It has great staying power just like the foundation but I would recommend setting under your eyes if you have problems with creasing. I set everything I dare put under my eyes, I struggle with creasing with any product I use. I have to be very picky about what I put under my eyes because I have fine lines and I am quite dry there. This product feels nice and hydrating under my eyes, but I still need to set it. The shade range isn't as impressive as the foundation but I do like how they have Warm and Neutral options. I like to use "Light Neutral" as my concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes because it matches my skin tone pretty well, but then I like to go in with "Fair Neutral" to highlight and brighten. I LOVE the packaging and LOVE LOVE the applicator, it is a two sided flexible wand, so you can get into places easily. love love love it! You get 0.16 fl oz. It has a smell.. it is strong. It's almost like paint. but it does not last and it is so so so worth it.

Now for the Powder Foundation. It is silky smooth with great coverage. I love the packaging as well and you get 0.31 oz. I love to set the liquid foundation with the powder and if I am not feeling a full face that day I love to just use the concealer and then set my whole face with the powder. I like to take it on the go with me. It has a mirror and a usable sponge that comes with it. It sits beautifully on the skin and does not collect around my nose or sit funny on my pores, It does not cling to dry patches either. It has no smell.

I could go on and on about these products because they are so great. I recommend them all as a set or to use with other products. They are fantastic in my book! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and if you love them or hate them, let me know your opinions! If you try them out, let me know!

All about lippies

Hey guys! I want to share with you my favorite lippies. The ones that are my go to, holy grail favs. They just work. I am not one to go for the bold lip, while I think it is beautiful fun and daring, I have a hard time pulling it off. I will get there one day! lol. So I lovvve my nudes, all nudes are different...they all have something different about them. The formula that I gravitate towards the most is a creamy full on color with no shimmer or frost. Lipstick is probably the biggest part of my collection, I love finding new ones. Today I'll be showing my fav lipsticks, lip glosses, and a lippie pencil.

I'm going to start with my love. Nars Audacious lipstick in "Raquel" holy pigmentation! Yes this lipstick was $32.00... but the texture, pigmentation and the range of beautiful colors makes up for the price to me. Raquel is described to be a pink beige. I think it leans more peachy beige on me. The formula is so light and weightless, its crazy to me how pigmented they are! I love this one, I do have one tiny little complaint about this one thought :( sometimes I notice when I have it on that it gets that not so cute ring around the inside that almost looks like the product is separating, you know that weird gunk that happens for no reason sometimes? yeah not cool! but..it is probably my most used out of them all.

Urban Decays Revolution lipsticks are also amazing. Not as pigmented as the Audacious lippies but non of the less it is a great favorite of mine. They are $22.00. I love the color "Naked" it is described to be a nude pink, I can agree to that but as the one above this pulls a little peachy on me, but more pink this one. It is creamy with a nice sheen, no shimmer! and so comfortable to wear. This one has never done that weird thing and separate on me, so that is a plus! I find these long wearing without being drying. Love love love

I don't hear much about the Smashbox Be Legendary lipsticks. I'm not sure why, I think they are fantastic! I love the color "Posy Pink" it is described to be a peachy rose, its peachy but more pink than a rose. They are $20,00. I keep this one is my handbag at all times because it is a color that I can throw on with no mirror and not worry if its all over my face. Its not sheer to say the least it has great pigmentation and it is creamy, but its not overly creamy. Its perfect.

I have a love hate relationship with this one, It is the Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb, It says it is a moisture plumping lip tint. They are $21.00. I love minty or "Plumping" lip products. But the Too Faced Color Bombs are intense... they are uncomfortable for five minutes or so..then they are fine and all..but if you go outside your lip line, even just a little bit, you will be so red and burnin! I made the mistake of doing that one time. Even swatching them on my hand left me with a welt. But if you can be careful with these, they are really nice, I have two of them, I love the nude, but I am going to show the one in "Candy Burst" Its a pink, this one is a bright one for me, its not overwhelming, that's why I like it. Its a pink I can wear that I feel looks good on me. They are moisturizing and the color payoff is surprisingly pigmented for it being a "tint"..and it smells like strawberry milkshakes.

I have four Mac lippies that I use the most. They are $16.00. They are all in different finishes. "Kinda Sexy" is a Matte finish. Although it is a matte, it is creamy and comfortable to wear. It is a darker peachy beige nude. The color reminds me of "Raquel" from Nars, just a different finish. I love Kinda sexy, it is so easy to wear and goes with everything. "Shy Girl" is a Cremesheen. It's not the most pigmented, but the color is beautiful. It is a light peach with a lovely sheen to it. I love the cremesheen formula, its great. "Hue" is a Glaze, which means it is a sheer formula, It is a light nude pink. Glazes can be built up or can be worn mixed with another lipstick, I mix Hue a lot with others. Very glossy, very comfortable. Ahh and a Mac cult favorite. "Angel" is a Frost finish. Now I know I said I did not like frosty lipstick, but Angel is not frosty at all. Its a beautiful soft rosy pink. I can see why it is such a favorite to a lot of people. Don't be scared if a lipstick says it has a frost finish, it can look so different out of the tube, so just swatch it first!

I have a lip pencil from Mac that I can use with anything to change and customize any look that I want. They are $20.00. It is a Pro longwear lip pencil in "In Anticipation" it is a dark rosy pink. I love the formula of the pro longwear pencils, not drying, very creamy and lasts for a very long time.

My fav fav fav gloss to wear with everything is Buxom's "White Russian" Its a light milky pink, so creamy, so lovely and it has a nice plumping, minty feel. love love.

I just recently picked up two Elf lip glosses because someone had recommended them to me. So I went looking. They are SOOO pigmented for a gloss, you can even wear these alone! I was very surprised when I first applied them. "Scott" is a peach. "Brian" is a midtone pink. In the tube you can see a slight shimmer but when you swatch or apply its not noticeable. They are not too sticky, they have just enough stick to make it long wearing but keep it comfortable. So happy I found these, and they were only a $2.00!!!

Whew, this was a long one. I know there was some repetitiveness in there, but I sure hope you guys enjoyed and maybe find a new favorite to add to your collection!

Makeup Geek

Hey guys! I am going to be talking about my favorite Makeup Geek eye shadows today. I love MUG eye shadows, they have great pigmentation, they are buttery smooth and apply so easily and with no effort at all, they blend in to each other better than some high end eye shadows. I have heard many people say they are comparable to Mac. In my opinion with a few exceptions from Mac, MUG is much better. They are high quality with a drugstore price. The regular eye shadows are $5.99 a piece, but recently MUG came out with an eye shadow called the "foiled" eye shadows, they are amazing, I cannot say anything negative about them at all, they are $9.99 a piece. The only down fall to me is that you have to buy a Z palettes to put the pans in.

First I am going to share with you my favorite foiled eye shadows. They are crazy pigmented! They have a metallic finish, so much they almost look wet! You can use them wet or dry, they are best applied with your finger because they are so pigmented. I have green/hazelish eyes, so coppers, bronzes, golds are my cup of tea, I think they are the most flattering on me in my opinion. So my favorite foiled eye shadow is "Flame Thrower" it is BEAUTIFUL! Its a true copper with flecks of gold shimmer. love love love, brings out the green in my eyes! The next one is "In the Spotlight" this one is a light champagne with a peachy undertone with flecks of silver shimmer. When I say shimmer, I am talking about the mature grown up version of shimmer, nothing over the top nothing tacky, but it goes with the color and texture so perfectly and the flecks of shimmers are so small its just right. This one is a perfect inner corner highlight or to put right on the center of the lid to catch the light. It is so hard for me to pick my favorite out of these three, ugh! the struggle lol. The last foiled eye shadow that I will be talking about is "Grandstand" This one is gooooorgeous. It is a rich bronze, this one looks more metallic than the others, not shimmery. Love this one with my eye color as well. I just cannot deal. Too much pretty.

Flame Thrower, In the Spotlight, Grandstand

The rest of the eye shadows are going to be in the normal formula. I'll start with the lightest, it is called "Shimma Shimma" this one is a light creamy champagne. It is definitely shimma shimma, The finish is beautiful and I love to use this one in my inner corner and on my brow bone to catch the light. If I want a more subtle highlight I will use "Vanilla Bean" It is a matte creamy white, the texture is very smooth. I also like to set my eye shadow base with vanilla bean all over my lid. A good transition color and a very famous color from MUG is "Peach Smoothie" It is a matte light peach. You wont get a whole ton of color pay off with this shade but that is what makes it the best transition color, it helps blend the rest of the eye shadows out in to a perfect gradient defused look. It is also great for the deeper skin tones. "Beaches & Cream" is also a cult favorite for MUG, also a great transition color, perfect for the lighter skin tones, it is a lighter version of peach smoothie. Also a matte. This is one of my favs to blend out my other crease colors. Now for the darkest but yet again a cult fav, "Cocoa Bear" It is a dark reddish brown. It is a matte color also. perfect for defining the lash line, the outer V and smoking out the bottom lash line. I hope you guys enjoyed reading me blab about beautifulness!

Let me know if you guys have any MUG products and how you guys like them, or hate them. I couldn't imagine anyone hating them that's for sure! Share the love, let me know what you want to see next <3

All about that Glow

Hey guys! This is my first blog post on my very own blog! I am excited to start sharing some of the things that I love the most. I love makeup, everything about it. You can do so much! One of my most favorite makeup products is a good highlighter. I am going to be sharing and reviewing my most used, holy grail, lifeline of all highlighters today. I have three for today :)

This first one is the one that I have had the longest and it is my most used. It is the Hourglass Ambient lighting powder in Incandescent Light. It is absolutely stunning! It is the most natural out of the three that I am going to talk about today. The powder is so finely milled that when you apply it to your face, you cannot detect anything sitting on your skin, it looks like you are glowing from within. The Hourglass Ambient lighting powders are such a light silky smooth texture that just makes it a dream to blend in and wear. The overall highlight is not overwhelming, its a soft white/champagne. I have heard some people say that there is no detectable glitters or shimmers in the product but upon me swatching it and looking closely you can see just a slight shimmer to it, its beautiful, like I said its not overwhelming and it does not make you look like a disco ball. I will definitely be wearing this one on my wedding day!

The second one is intense! but beautiful, it is the Becca Shimmering skin Perfector pressed in Opal. So so stunning, I already reviewed Opal on my Instagram but it is too pretty to not rave about more than once. The highlight is a rose gold champagne with a sheen, with slight shimmer, not overwhelming shimmer but lovely shimmer! Because of my undertones Opal looks more gold on me than anything. It's very smooth in texture and applies like a dream, you do not need much of this product at all to get that glow. Just look at her shes gorgeous!

Ahh and for the last one, I loooooove this one. Its a Mac cult favorite, as it should be, its absolutely gorgeous. I am talking about Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle. Soft & Gentle is the most shimmering out of the the three I am talking about in this post, It looks similar to Beccas Opal but it is lighter in color, more of a champagne, less of a rose. It has more detectable shimmer in it but it is not overboard. I can see why it is a cult favorite. It is very wearable. You can add a little for something subtle or you can add more for a night out or if you're me, you can add more even if you are just going to the grocery store, what can I say, I love me some highlight!

Thank you guys for sticking around and reading about my favs! <3
